Isaiah 54v13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children.
A legacy is something that is handed down or remains from a previous generation or time. A good legacy will always promote or exalt the next generation, it will help them to build upon a solid foundation. The greatest legacy we can ever leave behind for the next generation, is a legacy of faith. This is seen in the life of Timothy, Paul said to him, “when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.” 2nd Timothy 1v5.
Many of us were left with the legacy of ancestral and idol worship, a legacy of superstitions, ungodly culture and tradition. It is true that there are good things that we can learn from our culture and tradition, but there are other beliefs that are an abomination to our God. The promise of the forgiveness of our sins through repentance, and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, is first for us and our children, then to those who are afar (Acts 2v37- 39). The danger we are faced with today is that we might end up leaving behind a legacy of good church programs that are void of the Holy Spirit and are not necessarily word based. Leaving behind a legacy of faith for our children means that they will be taught by the Lord, even in our absence.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: May your children never know any other god, but only the Lord Jehovah, in Jesus’ name!
“Dear heavenly Father, thank you that my faith in You and Your Son, Jesus Christ, will impact generations after me….”
