Psalm 127v1 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.
One of the characteristics through which God reveals Himself in the bible, is that of a builder. The bible declares that we are God’s building (1st Corinthians 3v9[b]) and that we are the temples of the Holy Spirit (1st Corinthians 3v16; 16v9); both individually and corporately as we are also the Church that the Lord Jesus Christ is building (Matthew 16v18). The Hebrew word translated as “build” in Genesis 11v4 is “banah” and it also means to obtain children; therefore, as we have the right or privilege to be called the children God through our faith in Jesus Christ (John 1v12), we are being built by God to become His family and place of habitation (Ephesians 2v20-22).
Not only are we the household or the family of God, but we are also His living stones through which He is building His place of habitation (1st Peter 2v5). The Lord is building His house, one stone at a time! He is our Shepherd and the Overseer of our souls (1st Peter 2v25), He values each and every one of us (Luke 15v4, 7, 10) because He always sees us as the living stones that are contributing towards the building of His Church (Ephesians 4v16). He also admonishes us not to build without Him as the Chief Architect and the Lord Jesus Christ and Chief Cornerstone (Psalm 127v1; Ephesians 2v20).
PROPHETIC DECLARATION: I see the Lord building your life, one stone at a time, in Jesus’ name!
“Dear heavenly Father, thank you that You are the builder of my life, family, career or business, today I yield to You so that You may finish the good work You have started in my life….”
